Acrylic Painting Classes

Tuesdays beginning July 13th

9:00am to 12:00pm (or 9:00am to 10:30am -- student choice).

 

Location: Swartz Creek United Methodist Church

6400 Miller Rd.

Cost: $15 for 3 hours or $10 for 1 1/2 hours, payable weekly.

Beginners are welcome. No commitment required. All classes are "drop-in."

 

Supplies: Students supply their own canvas, paint, brushes, and an image (picture) of what they would like to paint. Masks are required at this time.

Instructor: Nancy Olds

Beginner Artistic Sewing: Mushroom Pinchusions

Students will learn some basic sewing stitches while creating their own pincushions. No experience necessary.

All materials will be provided.

Basket Weaving Family Fun Class

Saturday, August  14th

10:00am-1:00pm

 Swartz Creek Church of Christ

4410 S Seymour Road

Ages 10 and up, must be accompanied by an adult

 

This free class is designed for a child and adult to attend together. Each will make a basket to take home.

Coffee and water will be available. Please feel free to bring your own snack, as none will be provided. All teachers, materials, supplies, and tools will be provided by MMBWG. A waiting list will be kept if a cancellation from another registration opens up.

The project is a cute basket (4.5″x4x5″x4″H) will start with pre-cut reed. Various colors of kits will have a pattern and all the materials needed to complete in a 3-hour time frame. 

Registration is required to save your place.

Origami: The Art of Japanese Paper Folding

Students will learn about origami and fold their own creations. No experience necessary.

All materials will be provided.

Drawing from Nature for Teens

Teens will explore drawing techniques using pencil,

charcoal, and pastels.

 

Thursday evenings, beginning August 19th

Elms Park

6:30-8:00pm

Class limit: 7

 

Teenagers ages 13-18 are encouraged to bring their sketchbook and pencils, but some will also be provided. The instructor would like to see the students current art to help asses which skill-level to teach.

Students will make a small artwork with Perler beads. No experience necessary.
